Shahdara sits on the far bank of the river, which puts the Walled City ten minutes away and most of the rest of Lahore behind a bridge. How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Car in Shahdara?
A Suzuki Wagon R is PKR 4,000 for a 12-hour day with its driver, a Toyota Corolla GLi PKR 5,500 and a Honda BR-V with seven seats PKR 8,000. Crossing the river adds nothing to the rate. Leaving Lahore altogether moves each car to the outstation column, which is what a run up GT Road uses.

How the Driver Finds Your Door in Shahdara
Name a landmark with the address
The car comes to your door, not to a pickup point. Street names repeat here, so send the address with something near it: the Metrobus terminal on Old Ravi Bridge Road is the marker every driver in the city knows, and it makes the last turn obvious.
Begum Kot and Kot Abdul Malik
These sit further out along the GT Road side, so the driver leaves earlier for them. Give the street and the nearest mosque or market, which is what our drivers navigate by here.

How Far Is Shahdara From the Airport, the Walled City and GT Road?
The airport is 26.1 km and about 25 minutes away on the Ring Road, and the Walled City only 4.7 km. Gulberg takes longer than the airport, at 16.2 km and half an hour, because that route crosses the bridge and goes through the middle of the city.

The pattern matters more than the exact minutes: anything that crosses the bridges into the city slows down in the peaks, while the Ring Road keeps moving. So we set the pickup time from the bridge, not from the map distance, and for a flight we work backwards from the departure time.
Cars for the Shahdara Bagh Tombs
Shahdara Bagh holds one of the densest groups of Mughal monuments in Pakistan: the tomb of Jahangir, the tomb of Asif Khan, the tomb of Nur Jahan and the Akbari Sarai, with Kamran’s Baradari nearby on the water. The name means the passage of kings, from the days when this was the road into Lahore.
The entrances are spread across the precinct and parking at each is limited, so most visitors keep one car and driver for the whole visit. A Corolla or a BR-V suits a family; a Grand Cabin at PKR 13,000 keeps a group of thirteen together, and a Coaster takes a college party. Overseas families often add the Walled City in the afternoon, which is ten minutes back over the bridge. For a longer route into the north, the tour vehicle rates apply instead of the city day rate.
Heading North From Shahdara
North is the easy direction here. GT Road starts at the doorstep, Gujranwala is 60 km up it, and the Kala Shah Kaku interchange puts you on the M-2 in under half an hour without touching the city. That makes Shahdara a quicker start for a northbound trip than most of Lahore.

For a car today, it depends on what is free: one usually reaches you within 60 minutes of a confirmed booking, provided a suitable car is free, and larger or luxury models want a day’s notice. Because each driver parks at home rather than at the office, the car that comes to Shahdara is whichever one is nearest, often already on this side of the river. About 25 minutes for the 26.1 km, using the Ring Road rather than going through the city. It is one of the quicker airport runs in Lahore, because the Ring Road avoids the bridge traffic that slows the trip into the centre.
